The Supreme Court has said that High Courts should not entertain anonymous letters or petitions containing allegations against any person or organisation and order for suo motu investigation treating them as PIL. “Setting criminal law in motion is a serious matter and HCs should not exercise its jurisdiction under Article 226 to consider an anonymous letter or petition as PIL,” the court said.
