"It is very easy to resign and sit at home, but that will not serve any purpose. I will not give in to the propaganda that is being created," Gill said.
Gill said he was not considering stepping down before the two mega events — 2010 World Cup and Commonwealth Games — to be hosted in two years' time. "I will go on till 2010.”
Gill seemed hardly perturbed by FIH's threats to consider moving the 2010 World Cup out of India if IHF did not get its act together. "We are prepared if the World Cup is not held in India. We have not had the World Cup here for ages," he quipped.
The IHF boss also gave a vote of confidence to chief national coach Joaquim Carvalho, who resigned after the debacle, as well as the team.
"What's wrong with the coach? He has done an excellent job. The team has done an excellent job," the ex-cop said. Gill indicated he was not considering a change at the helm.
"Ric Charlesworth has himself said he needs five years before he can take over as chief coach," Gill claimed.
