Skipping the Mysore circuit, celebrity guest Padukone, speaking to Deccan Herald, said he was keen on being a part of the wild life safari at Kabini resort, that the tourists on the Golden Chariot were taken to.
The drive to the resort was more smooth than expected and the moment the two air conditioned buses reached the resort, there was excitement all round looking at the beautiful Kabini river.
The boat ride though was very interesting as the tourists could spot elephants, a few exotic birds and spotted deer.
But, “the ride was a bit too long,“ said Matthias Nuse, a travel writer from Nuremberg, Germany. However, Michel Bassanel, 79, of Austria was all excited when he exclaimed: “It is a very beautiful trip, very well organised.” The 640 sq km Kabini resort forest range has tigers, leopards, wild boars, Indian Gaur and spotted deers.
The paying Australian tourist Nigel Nigel Triffit, who has been on 69 wild life safari rides in Africa, said, “The treatment to the five star tourists need to be fine tuned. It should be full of surprises. For instance, a well laid-out table right in the middle of the forest with smartly attired waiters waiting with a bottle of wine, will bowl the tourists over, instead of coming back to the restaurant to eat.”
