Renovate public opinion on police, says ADGP
DH News Service,Udupi:
As many as 3,000 police personnel have been appointed in the last 20 months. As many as 701 personnel have been recruited for the Indian Reserve Battalion, first of its kind in Karnataka...

“Recruitment structure is more stabilised in Karnataka resulting in numero uno position for impartial and transparent recruitment procedure throughout India,” said Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) (Recruitment and Training) Dr D V Guruprasad.
Addressing a press meet after the passing out parade of the third batch of Civil Police personnel in a programme organised by Civil Police Training School here on Thursday, he said that prime objective of the Department will be to furnish the needs of women and children as a major step towards renovating public opinion regarding police department and personnel which has drastically reached a worse stratum in the State. A women and children’s help desk will be opened in major police stations. Gender sensitisation programmes have been introduced in the training process in association with United Nations, he added.
He informed that as many as 3,000 police personnel have been appointed in the last 20 months. As many as 701 personnel have been recruited for the Indian Reserve Battalion, first of its kind in Karnataka, he added.
Informing regarding the measures taken to combat increasing white collar crimes, naxal and other terror activities, Mr Prasad said that curriculum in the training programmes have been changed according to the needs to equip the personnel themselves to fight against changing crime strategies, he added.
Denying the criticism that usually police are not fortified by modern and advanced arms, he said that the personnel are sensitised about new weapons and are almost all equipped with AK-47 and are restricted to utilise the weapon only if situation demands.
He also informed that as many as 5,000 homes have been built under Police Housing Corporation with the allotment sanctioned by the State Government for the purpose.

ADGP-TRAINING&RECRUITMENT
KARNATAKA STATE POLICE
Hello sir,it would be much better to give some reservations to N.C.C. CADETS, SPORTSMEN in recruitment of police constables as the NCC CADETS and SPORTSMEN are much better energetic and almost physically fit and trained By Army for more than 3years(NCC). But our govt is condemning these talented young men . if this is the fact then what is the use of geting trained in NCC?MEDIA PERSONS DO HIGHLIGHT IT TO THE CONSERNED RECRUITING OFFICER.
