Kulshekar parish council denies charges
Mangalore, dhns:
A complaint filed by Shanthi Samiti against the Kulshekar parish priest charging him with certain allegations, following a drift between a section of youth in the region and the priest is far from truth, said Parish Council Vice-President Victor Vas.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Mr Vas said that the Shanthi Samiti had recently held a silent protest in the church premises and informed the media that the church priest had imposed a rule that nobody could entre the church premises after 7 pm, not even for prayers. He said that this statement is completely false and has created wrong impression among the people.
He clarified that since there have been repeated complaints about some anti-social activities, consumtion of drugs in the premises, some group of people in private vehicles entreing the church premises, it was decided to prohibit the individual or group of individuals in the premises from 7 pm to 5.30 am. The rule is not applicable to anybody who come to the church for prayers and religious purposes.
Mr Vas said that some youth have taken it personally and have gone to the extent of placing complaints against the priest.
Mangalore Diocesan Parishat former secretary Susheel Noronha, Parish Council Secretary George D’Souza, Member Praveen Patrao and others were present at the news conference.
