Uphold duty towards humanity, medicos told
DH News Service,Mangalore:
Many parents want their children to become medical professionals because many feel it is a good business but it surely cannot be only that. Medical profession must be considered as only a business, said Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India Hynek Kmonicek.

Addressing the gathering at the Institutions Day and Graduation Day at Fr Muller Institute of Health Sciences on Thursday, Mr Kmonicek said that as mentioned in the oath of the medical professionals, they must uphold their duty towards humanity and must not consider their profession as business alone.
Reiterating the motto of Fr Muller Institution ‘Heal and Comfort,’ he said that the students must look at the motto a bit different, that is, if they heal people, they would attain comfort.
He further said that in the wake of the world coming closer, huge part of the world population are living in Asia and hence any development, good or bad cannot influence only Asia. In this scenario, face of Asia too is changing.
“Asia’s changing face depends largely on the future development of India where its biggest assets are its people, The Indians and the greatest Indians are the youth, the future of tomorrow,” Mr Kmonicek added.
About 421 students from various streams like GNM, Basic BSc, PCBSc, MSc Nursing, BHMS, M D Homoeopathy, Physiotheraphy, Radiography, Laboratory Technology, Hospital Administration, MBBS graduated.
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Registrar Dr Vasanth Kumar S was the chief guest of the programme while Mangalore Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza presided over the programme. Institution Director Rev Fr Patrick Rodrigues and other faculty members were present.
