Rains unearth poor roads
DH News Service,Madikeri:

The higgledy-piggledy condition of unscientific concrete roads in the city has been unravelled for the very first rain lashed here on Wednesday night and now the City Municipal Council has to face the protest of the citizens.
In many places, the soil filled on either side of the concrete road has been washed away in the rain, while it has been collapsed in some places. A tempo carrying domestic items stuck in the lose mud near Junior College here on Thursday morning which caused traffic disruption for some time.
People travelling vehicles who were on the way to a function in Gowda Samaj were forced to walk from the College premises.
The tempo was freed only after unloading the goods.
Vehicular movement was stopped until then, between Gowda Samaj and Panje Magesharaya Road.
People have started commenting that many more disorders of the concretisation would come out with more rains.
Instead of laying side walks beside the road, the CMC finished it off by filling soil there.
The unexpected rains have indicated the necessity of a practical approach, it is said.
