Public lay siege to Mescom office
DH News Service ,Koppa:

Taluk Raitha Hitarakshana Samiti activists laid siege to the Koppa Mescom office on Thursday, accusing that the Mescom office has failed to ensure proper electricity supply.
The procession which started off from the Town Hall under the leadership of Raitha Hitarakshana Samiti President B S Duggappagowda, reached Mescom office and laid siege to the office. The protesters warned that the office will be locked up till proper electricity supply is ensured. A tense situation prevailed in the Mescom office for some time. Farmers are unable to pump water in their fields and students are the worst victims of the power cuts. Only single phase electricity is supplied and the power is insufficient for the bulbs to glow properly. Sometimes, the voltage increases suddenly, damaging electronic gadgets and pumpsets. The protesters alleged that the Mescom officials are acting as per their whims and fancies and snapping electricity as per their wishes. Though the Samiti had warned the Mescom office 15 days ago, there has been no response, Mr Duggappagowda complained. The protest will continue till proper and unlimited power supply is ensured, he warned.
Though Mescom engineer tried to pacify the protesters, the protest continued for over an hour.
After Mescom Engineer Sayyed Mohammed and Assistant Engineer Abhishek assured to rectify the problem within two days, the protest was withdrawn. Later, the protesters submitted a memorandum to Tahsildar Narasimharaju. Town Panchayat former president Prakash, former member K S Subrahmanya Shetty, Youth Congress President Hanchikolalu Dinesh, Sudhakar Bhat of BJP Yuva Morcha  participated.
