Blind rogue jumbo caught
DH News Service,Shivanahalli Kodige(Hassan):
The Forest department officials have finally succeeded in capturing the partially blind elephant after one month. This elephant had raided the villages of Aluru, Sakaleshpur, Arakalgud in the western ghats and had killed two.

Unable to bear the attack of the elephant the villagers in the region had staged a protest. The forest department officials have succeeded in the first stage of work by capturing the elephant.
 The Central government had given permission to capture the two elephants which had become dangerous to the villagers. Of the two, the blind elephant has been captured and another elephant with two tusks is still at large.
 The partially blind elephant was spotted at Kerodi village near Nirvanaiah Swamy hills. The forest department officials acted quickly along with the experts and within 10 minutes the partially blind elephant, which was administered anaesthesia, was caught.
 The partially blind elephant is kept in captivity in Shivanahalli village.
Once it is transported to the Nagarahole wildlife sanctuary, the task of capturing the second elephant will begin, said DFO Nagaraj.
