The Wholesale Price Index-based Inflation rate stood at 5.02 per cent in the previous week and 6.51 per cent in the correspondingly week a year earlier.
The wholesale price index, on which the inflation rate is based, rose by 0.2 per cent to stand at 220 points from 219.5 in the previous week.
The inflation rate for week ended January 5 has been revised to 4.26 per cent from provisional estimate of 3.79 per cent as the wholesale price index finally stood at 217.6 points compared to earlier estimate of 216.6, according to data released on Friday
