A love story, upholding the values of family relationships, is Vazthukkal for you. Kathiravan (Madhavan), director of a software company, falls in love with Kayalvizhi (Bhavana) for her kindness and integrity.
Kayalvizhi, a student of agriculture science, also falls for Kathiravan’s goodness. But her joint family has objections to it and the ‘happy’ family breaks apart.
A metaphor of crass commercialism, Vazthukkal neither evokes any pleasant feeling nor provides food for thought. Instead, makes it more frustrating.
Scenes redolent of many films, and never-ending dialogues only help in adding to the boredom.
Sanjay’s camerawork is a delight to the eyes and few musical scores by Yuvanshankar Raja are melodious. However, all this gets buried with the loosely knit story.
Joining hands with Madhavan for the second time after Thambi, Seeman fails to even give a masala movie.
Maddy’s performance and Bhavana’s charm hardly make any impact on the audience.
Not worth watching.
