Sunitha Rao and her French partner Aurelie Vedy went down fighting against top-seeded Chinese combination of Chun-Mei Ji and Sheng-Nan Sun 6-2, 2-6, 4-10 in the doubles final of the ITF women’s event on Friday.
Meanwhile, fourth seed Belgian Yanina Wickmayer and Belarusian Ekaterina Dzehalevich set up the singles title clash after winning the semifinal clashes.
Wickmayer defeated eighth seed Naomi Cavady of Great Britain 6-1, 6-3, while Ekaterina overcame a fighting Margit Ruutel of Estonia 6-4, 0-6, 7-5 in the other semifinal.
The winner will earn 35 WTA points and a cash prize of USD 7315, while the runner-up will bag 25 points and USD 3990.
