Announcing this to reporters on Friday, Chief Electoral Officer R Ramaseshan said the delimitation exercise has been completed and electoral rolls of delimited constituencies will be ready in next two days.
Ramaseshan declined to comment on the announcement of polls. He just said, “We do whatever the EC directs us. We are awaiting for further directions from the EC.”
Asked whether the OCEO going to publish the delimited rolls, he said so far he has not received any direction from the EC to do so.
While delimitation of constituencies was completed on March 12, the rolls of 100 delimited constituencies have been completed so far. “In next two days, the delimited rolls for remaining constituencies will be ready, except for those in BBMP area, Bangalore urban and other city corporations which will be ready by March 22,” he said.
Official sources said that the OCEO is preparing delimited rolls at Computer Maintenance Corporation Limited in Vasanthnagar.
The CMC limited has a software which prepares the rolls of a delimited assembly constituency within just two hours.
