Woman ends life
A 25-year-old woman Shivamma has committed suicide by consuming poison at the Bethamangala police station limits.

A prolonged illness is stated to be the reason behind this extreme step. Sub Inspector Raghurama Reddy has registered a case

Temple robbed
Jewellery and cash of Rs 4,950 in all totalling Rs 74,000 were stolen from a temple in the BEML Police limits on Thursday night.

The miscreants broke open the backdoor of the Ganesh temple in M V Nagar by using an iron rod and stole cash and six silver lamps and three gold chains.

The loss was discovered by the priest when he opened the front door of the temple and saw that the jewellery adorning the idol was missing and immediately informed the police. BEML police station Circle Inspector Vivekanand visited the spot along with fingerprint experts and a dog squad. DySP M Vijayaseshan also visited the spot.

16 hurt in mishap
As many as 16 people suffered  injuries when a mini bus turned turtle near Badamakanahalli under the Bethamangala police station limits.

Of them condition of one woman is stated to be serious. The bus was on its way to Kotilingeshwara temple when the accident occurred. All the inmates of the bus were from Nandi Hills village. In all there were 22 people on the bus.

The injured have been treated at the government hospital here.

4 arrested
Bethamangala police have arrested four people on charges of gambling.

Muniappa, Ch annaiah, Srinivas and Venkatesh, all residents of Bethamangala, were caught while engaged in gambling. Police have recovered Rs 1,600 cash from them.

Man commits suicide
A 27-year-old man Swarnakumar committed suicide by hanging at his residence. Dejected by family problems, he decided to end his life when there was nobody at home. He was a resident of Doddaru Karapanahalli on the outskirts of KGF. BEML police have registered a case.

Two rowdies arrested
Two rowdies wanted in several murder cases have been arrested in a joint operation by Chikkaballapur and Bangalore Frazer Town police on Wednesday in the City.

The arrested are Sajjad alias Sajju and his associate Rizwan alias Rizvi. Bangalore police had been on the look out for the duo since past ten years.

Two pistols and other lethal weapons have been seized from them.

Sajju is a former associate of rowdy Tanvir. However now he is with the opponent gang. He was wanted in 32 murder cases. The other accused was wanted in 22 murder cases, said the police.

Both Sajju and Rizvi were staying in Chikkaballapur since last three months. They would function in Bangalore during the day and to escape from the police they would return to Chikkaballpur every night. They had taken an independent house on rent behind APMC yard in Chikkaballapur.

Police traced the duo with the help of mobile signals. Frazer Town ACP Ajjanna, Inspectors Nagraj, Rajanna, Chikkaballapur Circle Inspector Tippeswamy, SI Satyanararayana and other took part in the operation.

Zonal officer suspended
Zilla Panchayat CEO F R Zamadar has suspended Social forestry division zonal forest officer S Revaiah on charges of misuse of money, unofficial absence and negligence of duty.

He was alleged of misusing Rs 4.44 lakh, which was said in report by the Social forestry division deputy Forest Conservation officer. CEO has directed the officials to hold an enquiry from the department.

Power theft
Nine people have been arrested and 52 cases have been registered in connection with power theft in the district.
A team led by Bescom police inspector K Pradeep Kumar conducetd a raid on electricity towers in Garudapalya, Tambihalli, Nenamanahalli, Veerapur, Toradevandahalli, Madderi, Chengimale, Pemmashettyhalli, Nuggalapur, Chikkahasal, old locality in Kolar City, APMC yard, Alambagiri, Hosahalli, Eluvahalli, Mogalahalli, Shivapur, Doddapalli, Kootagenahalli, Pakarahalli, Jayamangal, Tongalakuppa, Bavarahalli, T Gollahalli, Devarahalli, Swarnanagar, Koramandal, Urigam, Timmanayakanahalli, Kasavireddyhalli, Bevanetta, Seegehosahalli, Mulabagalu peth and Shivakeshav and identified misuse of power. A fine of Rs 1,89,228 has been collected from the accused.

Minor raped: accused missing
A 12  year-old-girl was raped by a 55 year old person in the limits of Marikuppam Police station in KGF on Tuesday.

Venkataramappa is the accused who is missing after committing the crime. He had also blackmailed the girl saying that he would kill her if she made the matter public.

The girl who feared of the consequences did not dislcose the matter to anybody, until Venkataramappa again tried to assault her sexually. This time the girl, told the matter to her father and he has lodged a complaint with the police.

Cirlce Inspector Krishnappa has registered the case and the hunt is on for the missing. Two police teams have been formed led by DySP M Vijayasheshan.
