Women executives shared their success stories to a select gathering at a one-day conference on ‘Indian Women: Empowerment and Achievements - Now and Further Ahead,’ hosted by National HRD Network in Bangalore on Saturday.
Ranjani Ranganath, senior managing director of Global Delivery Centre, Cisco System, said that a growing economy has led to increase in the number of employment opportunities for women.
In the global scenario, economy needs more workforce who can collaborate, network and deliver efficient results - skills that conventional Indian women grow up with, she said.
In his key note address, Dileep Ranjekar, programme chairman and CEO of Azim Premji Foundation, said that the education structure should be reviewed to achieve gender equity.
He said that there is a need to break the barriers against women in workplaces and that women CEOs should drive agendas to achieve equality at work.
