Residents of HBR layout, on Sunday, took out a protest rally demanding basic amenities such as asphaltation of roads, pavements on either side of roads and disposal of solid waste management. Hundreds of residents took part in the protest march on the roads of the locality which have not been asphalted for years.

Demands of HBR Layout Residents’ Welfare Association include providing drainage system, conservation of Kacharakanahalli tank, recovering CA sites, which have been encroached upon for commercial purposes, proper street lights, clearing encroachments on sidewalks and tackling stray dog menace.

The association president tSridhar Ramaswamy alleged that the 80 ft road at the entry of HBR layout has become 40 ft road because of encroachments. There are no proper road either from HP petrol pump or Hennur main road to the layout.

Despite repeated appeals to authorities concerned nothing worked out and hence as a consequence  the resident took out the procession, he added.
