In a cinematic style, a gang of three members waylaid a jeweller and robbed off cash and gold worth Rs 1.5 lakh at Shanadi Cross near Kedoor in Kundapur.  According to police, Raghavendra Acharya, owner of a jewellery shop was on his way back home when three persons waylaid his mobike and hit him with a wooden log after throwing chilly powder into his eyes and decamped with gold, silver, cheque and cash.

They have decamped with Rs 17,000 in cash, a cheque for Rs 7,000, one kg silver, 50 gm gold, 3 pawan ornament and also his mobike.  

Pedestrian killed
A pedestrian was killed when a bus knocked him down at Perdoor village.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as Shankar Madival (57), a resident of Perdoor. 

5 hurt
Five persons were injured when a boiler burst at Tiki Tar Industries in Karnadu Industrial area in Karnadu village.
According to police, the injured are  Mohan Das, Sharan, Vijay, Ashif and Parushurama.
