An inter-varsity mock parliament was held at the Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT) on Saturday. The programme was jointly organised by the department of management studies of SIT, Deccan Herald and Prajavani newspapers.
The students’ mock parliament had both the ruling and the opposition parties.
It saw the future youth leaders presenting their views on the steps to be taken for the welfare of the country. They put forth their thoughts on how to work towards putting India as a significant nation on the global map.
The oath taking ceremony was one of the most appealing to watch as the youth leaders took the oath in Hindi and English languages. Tributes were paid to the departed leaders. Later a two-minutes silence was observed.
This was followed by the introduction of new ministers and later the question hour. As many as 55 students participated in the mock parliament. Principal of SIT Basavaraiah said that such programmes help students develop leadership qualities. Chief Programme Co-ordinating Officer of MBA department, Professor Sambith Kumar Mishra, Dr Chandranna, Professor Chethan Bajaj, Professor Nissar Ullahaq and other dignitaries were present.
Area marketing officer of Deccan Herald and Prajavani newspapers Vinay, distributors Siddappa, Rudresh and others were also present.
