A 12  year-old-girl was raped by a 55 year old person in the limits of Marikuppam Police station in KGF on Tuesday.

Venkataramappa is the accused who is missing after committing the crime. He had also blackmailed the girl saying that he would kill her if she made the matter public.

The girl who feared of the consequences did not dislcose the matter to any body, until Venkataramappa again tried to assault her sexually. This time the girl, told the matter to her father and he has lodged a complaint with the police. Circle Inspector Krishnappa has registered the case and the hunt is on for the missing. Two police teams have been formed led by DySP M Vijayasheshan.
