The department of food and civil supplies have filed criminal charges against the owner and manager of LPG Distribution centre for violating the Essential commodity rule. This was announced by the Subdivisional officer Dr Arundathi.
The owner of the LGP distribution centre M Chivananda has been charged with violating 3 and 7 clause of the Essential commodity rule and 7.8 and 10 section of the Explosives act and Indian Penal Code 420. There has been a history of mistake while supplying LGP gas from 2006. They are also alleged to have harrased customers. The Cooking gas corporation has recommended that the distribution duties be changed to a different agency with immediate effect said Dr Arundathi.
The clients from the rural sector have not been supplied their gas cylinders for nearly 3 months. There have been incidents where these clients have camped infront of these shops through the night so they can lead the queue that would form in the morning.
