Genocide in Tibet: the Lama
The Dalai Lama on Sunday accused China of unleashing a "cultural genocide" in Tibet and demanded an impartial international probe into the situation in violence-hit Lhasa.

5.7 lakh to take II PU exams today
Nearly 5.73 lakh students are expected to appear for the second year pre-university exams, which will commence on Monday. This year, the II PU exams are being conducted before the SSLC exams.
Early school timings for City kids on anvil
School-children in Bangalore may have to start their day a bit early from the next academic year. The State government is contem-plating staggering the school timing and fixing it at 8.30 am.
Twelve injured as stadium's gallery caves in Twelve persons were injured, three of them seriously, when a makeshift gallery at the Sree Duga Parameshwari grounds inJ P Nagar, the venue of the South Zone volleyball championship, collapsed on Sunday. It was the second such incident to hit the tournament in a week. On Thursday, fans had escaped unhurt when the stands caved in.
