The second PU exams commenced from Monday but there were many students in Kolar who had not received their Hall tickets till date. The 25 students of a newly opened college were in for shock when they didn’t receive the hall ticket.
Fear and anxiety gripped the students and their parents who were involved in a verbal battle with the college officials.
The students alleged that most of the hall tickets had already arrived on the seventh of this month bearing 25 of them. It was due to the negligence of the college that 25 hall tickets had not arrived, added students who said that college in a bid to escape from its responsibility sighted shortage of attendance and refused to give hall tickets to the students.
But the negligence of the college was exposed when the college had not sent letters to the parents in case a problem like that persisted with the students. JD(S) party district youth leader B Suresh Gowda who arrived at the spot took the college officials to task for their negligence.
Later PU Education Department’s Deputy Director Kadirvelu was called to the college and was briefed about the problems faced by the students and demanded hall tickets for all the students.
Kadirvelu agreeing with the students said that all students would be given hall tickets on Tuesday. Bearing the two students who had signed the OMR letter, Principal of the college Gayatri Reddy asked the 23 students to come early on Tuesday to collect the hall tickets.
The students of the college later withdrew the protest.
