'Instill discipline among children'

 “Education is the key to a better society and brighter future. Therefore it is imperative that the school children are taught discipline right from the beginning of the formal coaching. This will help us eradicate the menace of dishonesty and ignorance amongst the people,” opined  former minister R Srinivas.

He was speaking after the inaugurating the programme to distribute free cycles to the students of Government Pre-University  Composite College, High School section as part of their annual day celebrations.

Follow up needed
“Girls have to be educated well and parents also need to given attention to the education of their wards. They have to consistently follow up with the teachers about the progress that their children are making,” he added.

Taluk Panchayat  Vice President Raghupathi Reddy also spoke on the occasion and added that education is important to instill discipline among children.  Block Education Officer K M Jayaram Reddy presided over the programme. He urged the teacher to discharges their duties to the best of their abilities and ensure that children have every opportunity made available to them to excel in life.

Taluk education advisory committee President M Sriram and Vice Principal of the Government PUC College H M Govindappa also spoke on the occasion.The winners in the cultural programme were guided by  Radha Kumari and the winners in the sports section by the physical education instructor E Srinivas Gowda.The cultural programme as directed by Sabeen Kausar. G Nagaraj presented the school report, Vice principal V M Amarnath Babu welcomed the gathering and Maruthi compered the programme.
