“ The local residents should encourage efforts made by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat to create awareness about our language including kavi goshtis,” said President of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat H R Venkatrao.
He was speaking at a memorium programme organised by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat in memory of senior politician late N C Nagaiaha Reddy.
“Nagaiaha Reddy and his family have made a unique contribution to the taluk and were able to relate to the problems that people of the region faced. They have tried to help ease the problems as best as they can,” said Rao.
The principal of Vivekananda School where the programme was held Chandrashekar, also urged the younger generation to embrace the inspiring principles of the late leader Nagaiaha Reddy so they have a better and brighter future in their lives.
Town Municipal member V Ramesh, Parimala Radhakrishna also spoke on the life of late leader.
Former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat M R Narajar Rao, Taluk Journalists’ association former vice president V D Ganesh, Secretary of the Acharya College, Balram were also present on the occasion.
