Devanahalli turns prime location
The State High Level Clearance Committee (SHLCC) chaired by Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Monday approved 28 mega projects, including seven new special economic zones (SEZ), five IT parks and two integrated townships, worth over Rs 49,000 crore in one go.
Sensex plunges below 15K
Domestic stock markets crashed in tandem with global bourses on Monday and the benchmark Sensex on the BSE plunged to record this years second biggest fall of over 950 points on a selling onslaught by funds.
It's early to school from next year
The proposal, put forward at a high-level meeting chaired by T M Vijay Bhaskar Secretary in the Department of Primary and Secondary Education on Monday, stated that government schools would function from 9 am to 3 pm and private aided and unaided schools between 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Train to airport put on fast track
The proposed high speed train to the Bengaluru International Airport will be implemented under the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) model with private participation, unlike the Bangalore Metro which is being jointly implemented by the State government and the Centre through a special purpose vehicle, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC).

Although the Election Commission is yet to announce the calendar of events for the impending assembly elections, Bangalore has been hotting up with frequent rallies and protests.
