Confidence Petro forges JV with Energtek Inc
Confidence Petroleum India, on Tuesday, announced that it has signed a joint venture with Energtek Inc to provide clean and affordable pipeless Natural Gas supply to automotive and industrial consumers, reports DHNS from Mumbai.
The 50:50 JV will make an investment of Rs 100 crore for co-ownership of Energtek’s subsidiary Primecyl LLC. A new fully owned subsidiary of Primecyl LLC, christened “Confi Energtek Asia Ltd,” will be established in India to carry out the JV businesses in India and throughout Southeast Asia, which includes Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and Pakistan. Primecyl LLC is also the owner of Ukcyl Ltd, a manufacturing facility for high-pressure cylinders in Ukraine.
Teleradiology Solutions launches ‘Rad Gurukul’
Teleradiology Solutions, a provider of teleradiology services, on Tuesday, launched ‘Rad Gurukul,’ a teleradiology training centre in India. Located in Whitefield, Bangalore, the facility will be dedicated towards training and refining the skills of radiologists, technologists and IT personnel involved in health care IT.
The training centre was inaugurated by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CMD Biocon. Equipped with state of the art amenities, the facility has an auditorium with videoconferencing facility, which will enable interaction with trainers and trainees from across the globe, claimed the company.
“Teleradiology Solutions was among the global pioneers to recognise the importance of bridging geographical distances to provide timely diagnosis. Radiology being a niche area, we are today facing an acute shortage of qualified employable talent in India. We believe that superior training can bridge this gap,” said Dr Arjun Kalyanpur, CEO, Teleradiology Solutions.
Ratan Tata conferred with Doctor of Science by IIT-K
Ratan N Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group, on Tuesday, was conferred with a degree of Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by the Senate and the Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur at its 50th annual convocation that was held recently. The award is to recognise his outstanding leadership in globalising India and transforming Tata Group as a company to reckon with, setting global benchmarks.
The degree was presented by Damodar Acharya, Director, IIT Kharagpur.
Windows Vista price for consumers reduced by MS
Microsoft Corporation India Private Limited, on Tuesday, announced a range of price reductions between 13-39 per cent on the retail versions of Windows Vista, the latest operating system from Microsoft.
Aimed at benefitting individuals (home users, self employed professionals & small business owners) purchasing stand-alone copies of Windows Vista, the price reduction is effective immediately and will be applicable only for Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Ultimate editions.
The estimated retail price for Windows Vista Home Basic Edition is now Rs 4,000, Windows Vista Home Premium is Rs 5,300 and Windows Vista Ultimate is Rs. 11,500 (all estimated street prices - may vary by city and partner).
