Youth strangled to death
Bangalore, DHNS:
A youth was strangled to death in Kempegowda Nagar in the Vidyaranayapura police station limits on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sridhar. Police said, Ramesh Babu, Sridhar, Praveen and Raja were working for Devaraj, a carpenter. The four-some were residing in a rented house. Sridhar and Ramesh Babu were in the habit of quarrelling frequently. On the ill-fated day when Praveen and Raja had gone out to attend a marriage, Ramesh allegedly strangled Sridhar to death and vanished, the police said.

The incident came to light when Praveen and Raja returned home.

Suicide
Husband's alleged torture pushed a 21-year-old mother of a month-old son to commit suicide by hanging from the ceiling at her 18th Cross, K P Agrahara residence on Monday.

Police said the deceased Sumalatha was married to Vinod Kumar two years ago. According to Sumalatha's mother, the complainant, their son-in-law was harassing for money and even after the kid was born and they did their best but the harassment continued. Unable to take the humiliation her daughter to take the extreme step. Vinod is absconding.

Two die in mishap
Two middle-aged men riding a motorcycle died on the spot after a tanker truck rammed into their vehicle on Outer Ring Road near ASR Kalayan Mantap on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Muniswamy (58) and Palani (45), residents of Thippasandra. They were heading towards Hebbal and the accident.

Robbery
In a robbery incident reported from Siddapura police station, some miscreants snatched away Nandini Mishra's handbag while she was walking in front of the Corporation stadium on Monday. Around Rs 6,000 cash, mobile phone and credit/debit cards are said to be missing.

In another incident two motorcycle borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from a GM Palya resident near HAL test house in Byapanahalli police station limits on Monday late evening.

The complainant Amini Babu said when she was walking towards Maruti Nagar two youths came from behind and snatched away her gold chain valued at Rs 25,000.

Body found
The unidentified body of a youth aged around 25-years was found near KPWD quarters in Jeevan Bheema Nagar on Tuesday.

According to the police, there were no injury marks on the body. Body was shifted to Bowring hospital and post mortem reports are awaited.

 Arrested
Peenya police arrested Pandit (30) of Uttar Pradesh on the charge of running live band and brothels. The police also took 22 women into custody.

Injured
Four people, including the driver, sustained minor injuries when a BMTC bus rammed into the compound of Maharaja Palace Hotel in R T Nagar traffic police limits on  Tuesday afternoon.

Man killed
A 40-year-old person was killed on the spot in a head-on-collision between a car and a BMTC bus in Ulsoor traffic police limits on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as K Krishna Kumar.
