Often we spend lots of time and effort to ferret out the Web pages browsed quite a while ago. Sometimes we find them. But most of the times we don’t, as browser history and bookmarks have limited usefulness. Enter hooeey, a versatile application that can play several roles including that of a history manager, search engine and book marking application, all-at-one-place.
It uses a novel approach that combines seamless automatic web hop recording with complete transparency and user control.
Hooeey enables the tracking of browsing history from any search engine and both browsers, Internet Explorer and Firefox. To keep track of all the data, hooeey’s built-in analytics service breaks down browsing habits into various charts and graphs.
Hooeey also provides a social networking layer, allowing one to share specific sites with others, both on the Hooeey network and other social book marking services. One can hand pick any site for tagging and share it with friends.
Hooeey has also been compared with Google’s Personal Search and Web History. However, there’s a marked difference between the two.
Unlike hooeey, Google’s Personal Search retains only the history of searches performed by using it. Google’s Personal Search does not track every page visited and its web history records only the web activity while one is signed in. Hooeey, however, simply works without having to sign in.
“The idea behind hooeey is that Internet users can re-use their browsing history in a productive manner–to reduce time spent in searching for previously visited web pages, to easily share interesting web pages with others and to use the provided dashboard to manage their browsing time more efficiently” says Mr. Rajeev Purnaiya, Founder and CEO of hooeey.
