Mutt was the source of inspiration: Krishna

Siddaganga Mutt with its 'Akshara Dasoha programme' has been a source of inspiration for implementing the mid-day meal programme in the State, said Congress leader and former Chief Minister S M Krishna here.

After seeking the blessings of Siddaganaga Seer Dr Sri Shivakumar Swamiji, he said that the credit of introducing the mid-day meal goes to his government which implemented the scheme at a time of severe drought in the State.

“Though there was a need of Rs 300 crore for the implementation of the project, I was very much determined to implement the project for the benefit of students”, Mr Krishna added.

Former Ministers Dr G Parameshwar, T B Jayachandra, A Krishnappa, V Somanna, District Congress President S Shafi Ahmad, former Member of Parliament G S Basavaraju, leaders Salim Ahmad, L Revanasiddiah, former Member of the Legislative Assembly  S P Muddahanume Gowda, B B Ramaswamy Gowda, CMC President Aslam Pasha, Vice President of CMC Vaale Chandraiah, spokesperson of the party Hemanth Kumar and others were also present on the occasion.
 

CALL FROM SONIA
While S M Krishna was seeking the blessings of te Seer, he was surprised to get a call from the Congress high command Sonia Gandhi. S M Krishna after receiving the call said that he was in Siddaganga Mutt to seek the blessings of ye Seer to his party. 

While he gave the phone to the Seer, he spoke with Sonia Gandhi. Sonia, conveying her high regards for the Seer and his works wished him in advance on his birthday which is 17 days ahead.
