The team of rowdies who barged into the hostel along with the wife of a chief cook, attacked the hostel students, it is learnt. Four students have suffered serious injuries and are admitted to the hospital, said taluk panchayat CEO Hanumanthappa.

BCM hostel officer Hadaginal has lodged a complaint against cooks Subbarayappa and Thimmaraju and sought for legal action against them.

This attack was a retort from the cooks as the students had complained the officers about inferior quality food being served by them, complained the students. Security has been beefed up at the hostel.

BJP District Chief Secretary S Shivaprasad has urged the officials to take strong action against the attackers. He demanded that the Warden of the hostel be suspended. He has urged for investigation as there had been complaints of illegal and irregular activities happening in the hostel in the supply of goods which includes crores of rupees.
