Chain snatchers arrested

Two chain-snatchers have been arrested by the local police in connection to the mangalsuthra snatching at the town.

On February 12, at 9.40 pm, Sharadamma’s 45 gm gold mangalsutra was snatched at Kuppur Complex. This had been the first case in the town recently which had triggered fears among the residents of Chikkanayakanahalli.
A local police team had been formed for this purpose.

The police arrested B Yogesh from Vinayakanagar and Kumar from Tiptur from whom they seized the Mangalsutra from a jewellery shop from Bagepalli. The same team had also robbed the mangalsutra from Divyashri from Tiptur.
The same team had made futile efforts to snatch the mangalsutra from a woman while walking on B H Road.
The police team had been formed under the leadership of Superintendent of Police  Dr Harsha, ASP Anantharamu, Deputy Superintendent of Police  H R Mahadevaiah, DSP Ashwini, CPI D T Virupakshappa, ASI Ramachandra and crime vigilance squad's Rajaiah, Chikka Lakke Gowda, Renukaradhya and Putte Gowda.

‘Be careful’
DySP H R Mahadevaiah warned the public to be very careful as the prices of gold are increasing day by day.  He has requested the public to complain to the public if any crime incidents happen.
