Banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and its associates were planning to commit serial blasts and other serious offences in the country, the Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

“While there was no present input indicating any specific plans of SIMI to attack important installation, ...one arrested person disclosed that he along with his SIMI associates were planning to commit serial blasts and other serious offences,” Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal replied.
