Tennis mom Lindsay Davenport faces the same juggling act as most working mothers, but sometimes the WTA Tour comes in handy. When her nine-month-old son developed a rash and fever on Sunday, Davenport took him to the tournament doctor in Indian Wells. The 31-year-old said she felt apologetic at the possibility of keeping an ailing player waiting, but it didn’t stop her.


PCB to decide onPak IPL players
Pakistan Cricket Board will decide on the issue of whether to allow its players to appear in the lucrative Indian Premier League during April and May when its national team is likely to play two home ODI series, reports PTI from Karachi.

PCB said on Tuesday that it would decide on a policy on this issue at its governing body meeting on March 22 in Lahore. The inaugural IPL starts from April 18 and its first half is expected to clash with Pakistan’s home one-day series against Bangladesh from April 6 to 22. Pakistan is also negotiating with Sri Lanka for a home ODI series scheduled from the last week of next month.

CA, PCB to discuss dates
Cricket Australia chairman Creagh O'Connor has invited Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Nasim Ashraf to discuss rescheduling the April tour which was postponed last week, reports Reuters from Sydney.

Sunitha, Sanaa make progress
India's Sunitha Rao and Sanaa Bhambri stormed into the second round of the $25,000 Women's Challenger tennis on Tuesday, reports IANS from Noida.

Second seed Sunitha knocked out Neha 6-0, 6-2 while Sanaa defeated Veronica Chvojkova 6-1, 3-1 after the Czech girl conceded the match.

In another tie, Sonal Ph-adke lost to Nudnida Luan-gnam of Thailand 0-6, 1-6.

Maxwell is CEO of Mohali team
Neil Maxwell, BCCI’s IPL agent, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Mohali team, co-owned by Bollywood actor Preity Zinta, reports PTI from New Delhi.

Four from State for NCA course 
Former Karnataka Ranji players PV Shashikanth, GK Anil Kumar, R Ananth and Somashekar Shiraguppi are part of a three-day refresher course for Level II coaches currently in progress at the National Cricket Academy, reports DHNS. The course is being conducted by Dr Suratwala, B Arun, D Nanavati and Dav Whatmore and will conclude on Wednesday.

ONGC bag men’s team title
National champions Chetan Anand and Saina Nehwal helped their respective teams win titles in the 29th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board badminton tournament on Tuesday, reports PTI from New Delhi.
Chetan defeated P Kashyap to lead ONGC to a 3-2 victory over IOCL in the title round while Saina accounted for BR Meenakshi to steer BPCL to a 2-0 win over IOCL 2-0 in the final.
