Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Tuesday, Kharge alleged that the BJP had invited the Gujarat CM to address a farmers’ convention in Hubli on Monday to fuel communal sentiments. He ridiculed Modi's claim that he had constructed three lakh water bodies in Gujarat to help farmers after the BJP came to power, and said that Modi was misleading the people.
Reacting to Modi’s remarks on the loan waiver to farmers announced by the Finance Minister, Kharge said that the UPA Government at the Centre had disbursed a credit flow of Rs 240,000 crore to farm sector as against Rs 120,000 crore during the NDA regime.
