Studying in Ambedkar style
A ten-member team of Ashoka Social Research Centre from Nanded in Maharashtra, led by Deepak Kadam and Advocate Shivaji, is travelling across the country in a car to ask students to study for 18 hours on April 14, the day when Dr Ambedkar was born.
“We want students to know that Baba Saheb used to put 18 hours a day on studies,” Deepak Kadam said.
What made them launch a 18-hour study campaign is the alarming dropout rates in classes up to 10th Standard.
Meet on sexuality minorities held
The second State-level annual convention of sexuality minority communities was inaugurated at the Indian Social Institute, Benson Town, on Tuesday.
Over 150 people from 20 districts in the State converged at this get-together organised by the NGOs `Sangama’, `Suraksha’ and `Samara’.

Haridasa Sahitya award
Soundarya Bhakthi Samskruthi Foundation of Dharwad has announced that Dr Aralumallige Parthasarathi, the famous exponent of ‘Haridasa Sahitya’ on March 22, 2008 at Dharwad.
