5 trucks seized
BBMP officials on Wednesday seized five lorries and slapped a total penalty of Rs 20,000 on the owners for dumping construction debris in the storm water drain running along the Vrishabhavathi valley.

The indiscriminate dumping of debris resulted in the drains overflowing during rains causing inconvenience to public. If anyone was found dumping debris in drains, BBMP would initiate strict action against them and also penalise them as per law, stated an official press release.

Celebrating Holi
To enable Bangaloreans celebrate the festival of colours amidst fun and frolic, SLad Entertainment and Geechoo are coming out with ‘Rangbarse 2008’, a two-day programme from Friday. To be held at the Palace Grounds, this event will include rain dance, games, music and other entertainment programmes. To mark the occasion, the organisers will distribute 10 bicycles to the children being supported by Hansankal, an NGO.

Tickets for the event are priced at Rs 198 per couple and available at all Cafe Coffee Day outlets.
