Doing a 0-60-km even before the blink of an eye, the adrenaline rush that a sports car can give is an experience truly worth having. And a Ferrari, for any car enthusiast, ranks among the top on the list.
Crowds gathered at the Shell Fuel Station on Mysore Road recently as the Scagliettis stood in style waiting to go full throttle once again. Silence followed the otherwise chaotic and noisy gathering the minute the Ferrari revved up. It got the crowd’s undivided attention and when they were good to go, there was no doubt that anything could surpass the arresting effect of the powerful sports car’s presence.
The Ferrari 612 Scagliettis have been doing the rounds in the country and recently hit City roads, much to many an envious eye. To commemorate over 60 years of celebrated partnership, Ferrari, supported by long-time partner Shell, put together the ‘Magic India Discovery Tour’ that kicked off during the last week of February in Mumbai. Driving through the West and South of India, the two Ferraris, brought down especially for this tour, will continue to cover a total of over 11,000 kilometres touching upon the famous temple sites of India.
After the tank up (a whopping capacity of a 100 litres), the Scagliettis were then taken to the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor (NICE) where a stretch had been cordoned off to give Bangalore media a feel of the horsepower. Ferrari brought down the cars specifically for this tour along with experts who can manoeuvre them on Indian roads. Andrea Costantini, one of the experts, shared with the media several unique features of the car during the drive. He also ensured the power of the car was not skipped and stepped on the gas pedal, going fast but not entirely full throttle. “In India, we prefer not to go beyond the 230 mark though this car can easily hit 320-322 kmph.”
Surinderdeep Singh, M D, and Retail General Manager, Shell India Marketing Pvt Ltd was also present.
Taking the Prancing Horse brand forward, they will continue along the country concluding the tour in mid May alleviating the interest about the car along the way.
