Kangaroo kids pre-school celebrated their annual day recently at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall. The theme for the evening was fantasy and there was no effort spared to help the event be true to its name, a ‘World of Fantasy’. Bhaskar Rao, Deputy Inspector General of Police, who was the chief guest for the event, had a very useful message for the audience. He said, looking at the growing crime rate among youngsters hailing from affluent families, it seems imperative that parents need to make time for their children and give them enough love and attention that they need.”
The toddlers were the first to make a splash on stage with a fashion show which showcased various themes such as cars, farm animals, and birds. There were also some toddlers with costumes of various wild animals and some displaying colours, posing on stage with cherubic smiles. The little ones walked the ramp with their mothers with great confidence and enthusiasm.
The playschool and nursery children were the next to perform on stage along with children from the junior and senior KG classes. As the theme for the day was that of fantasy and enchantment, all the classes performed to songs related to mythical and magical stories that every child has grown up listening to. The children of the senior kindergarten class set the mood for the evening by presenting a graceful performance to the earthy notes of ‘A whole new world’.
The next few performances saw some great dancing to songs from various fantasy themes such as Alladin, Rapunzel, and Cinderella. There were ‘Penguins’ doing the rock and roll, while all the wild animals stepped it up to ‘staying alive’. The cute and colourful ‘bugs’ had the audience in complete rapture while ‘Mowgli’ and his other friends from ‘Jungle Book’ did some cool moves to the song ‘Bear Necessities’.
The great costumes and the well rehearsed steps proved to be a visual treat for the appreciative audience. The senior class performance of ‘So long, farewell’ left the audience emotional. Their graduation ceremony at the end was a very touching experience with the Principal, Kalpana Das handing the little scholars their much deserved certificates.
