Hippocampus Children's Company is organising a weekend story telling programme at Hippocampus in Koramangala on March 29 at 11.30 am This is an opportunity for children who missed the story telling event- held earlier this month. On this day there will be a story session by Sarayu Perumal, who has been mentor with Hippocampus, and will regale children with story of a mischievous monkey. Hippocampus has been involved with promoting reading skills among children in Bangalore and Chennai for five years.The event is open to children of all age groups. Summer camp for kids at Inlingua
Inlingua International School of Languages is organising a summer camp for kids between the age group of 6 and 12 years. The programme would include topics like language enhancement, reading, listening and social skills, etiquette classes, story reading and public speaking. The three-week programme would concentrate on the overall personality development of the child. Registrations are open and admissions would be on a first-cum-first served basis. Jnana Sambhutam Utthista
The students of class X of AV Education Society pledged to walk the path of righteousness at the Graduation Day ceremony held recently. The chief guest for the day was Prof K E Radhakrishna, Principal, Surana College. The function began with welcoming the outgoing students and lighting of the lamp. It was followed by an invocation song and a soulful rendition ‘Hanathegalivu’, composed by TSL Adiga. The programme included readings from holy scriptures, and a very touching and emotional film presented by the outgoing students of their memories in the school.
The chief guest in his address to the students asked them to ignite the light of knowledge within themselves and imbibe the three qualities – focused energy, humility and discipline to achieve success in their lives.
Summer Express at Ranga Shankara
Ranga Shankara’s Summer Express, a host of summer workshops for children, is back. Workshops will be held in two different locations in the city. MES Kishora Kendra in Malleshwaram will echo the vigour along with Ranga Shankara. Summer Express is a part of AHA! Ranga Shankara’s Theatre for Children programme supported by Britannia Industries Ltd.
Summer Express this time is larger than ever with 11 workshops for children between the age groups of 7–18 years. The finest theatre practitioners in the country come together to make City’s young blood a few notches richer with workshops in play writing, acting, theatre lighting, photography, poetry, ‘Real Life Theatre’ among others. There are fun and educative workshops on car mechanics, putting together quick eats and basics of magic too. Registrations for the workshop will open on March 21 at 10 am at Ranga Shankara in J P Nagar (Ph: 26493982) and MES Kishora Kendra in Malleswaram. It is mandatory for parents/applicants to present their age proof along with payment (in cash) during registration for all workshops. Admissions to all workshops is on a ‘first come first served’ basis only.
