Meet the Victorian detective

The mystery laden, fog shrouded menace, of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Victorian master detective, Sherlock Holmes is back. Catch him this coming week on The History Channel’s Monday Night Classics special ‘Sherlock Holmes And The Baker Street Irregulars’. This exciting, new two-hour mystery adventure will be aired on March 17 at 9 pm on The History Channel.

Having enjoyed worldwide recognition, Sherlock Holmes continues to fascinate and mesmerise generation of readers across the globe. A faithful adaptation of the original stories, ‘Sherlock Holmes And The Baker Street Irregulars’ brings together the multi-award winning Jonathan Pryce (Pirates Of The Caribbean, Brazil) as Sherlock Holmes, with Bill Paterson (Sea Of Souls, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Wives And Daughters) playing his trusty companion, Dr Watson.

The Baker Street Irregulars first appeared in the Sherlock Holmes novel, ‘A Study in Scarlet’ and again in ‘The Sign of Four’. This new family drama pits Holmes and the Irregulars, a rag-tag group of street kids, against one of the famous detective’s greatest enemies. The ‘Irregulars’ find themselves having to solve the mysterious disappearance of two of their own gang, while Holmes himself is accused of murder and put under house arrest. Only by combining all their skills can they hope to free Holmes and the kidnap victims, solve the murders and prevent an audacious heist.
