Arrack ban injustice to Edigas: Bangarappa
DH News Service, Bangalore:
The decision of the previous government to ban arrack has resulted in causing injustice to the Ediga community, former chief minister S Bangarappa said on Wednesday.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the Renuka Yelamma Devi Temple at Solur in Magadi taluk, Mr Bangarappa said if the previous government was concerned about the health of the people, it should have imposed total prohibition.

He said such mistakes will not happen if people with commitment are elected to power.

Former minister Kagodu Thimmappa stressed the need for taking rehabilitation measures for those who had been rendered unemployed due to the arrack ban.

Meanwhile, former chief ministers S Bangarappa and S M Krishna who found themselves sharing the same dais at the function exchanged greetings and chatted for some time.

They even lit the lamp at the inauguration of the event together much to the delight of the audience.
