Demanding that the State government take immediate steps to ensure payment of old-age pension under the ‘Sandhya Suraksha’ scheme to senior citizens, members of the Akhila Karnataka Vayovriddhara Okkoota staged a protest demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on Wednesday.

They marched to the Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to the Governor’s Special Secretary Sharada Subramanya and urged the Governor to convene a meeting to discuss the issue.
