A 35-year-old man was hacked to death at Nileri village in Devanahalli taluk, over a land dispute, on Wednesday night.

Police said assailants Muniraju, son of Kalappa and K Muniraju, son of Krishnappa, waylaid Narasimhamurthy and hacked him to death when he was returning from the fields.

The police have arrested the assailants, who are also from Nileri. Narasimhamurhty is the brother of Nileri JD (S) leader Somashekar.

Fake records
The Cubbon Park police arrested the administrative officer and two first division assistants of Karnataka State Minority Development Corporation on the charge of creating fake records. Police said M D Ramaraj Urs (35) and the FDAs R L Narasimha Murthy (39) and Girish (18) had created  fake record as N Aslam, who had purchased an auto availing loan from the corporation, had not bribed them.

Two suffer burns
Two persons suffered burns when gas, which had leaked caught fire in Manjunathnagar, C K Achchukattu police limits on Thursday.

Injured Lakshmi (18) and Jayachandra (26) have been admitted to Victoria Hospital.
