Adarsha Auto and Taxi Drivers’ Union has demanded that gas dispensing bunks stop collecting service charge.
Addressing presspersons in Bangalore on Thursday, union president M Manjunath said the auto LPG dispensing bunks have been collecting service charge of Re 1 from each autorickshaw driver. Each bunk collects close to Rs 2,000 and the total collection by the 28 bunks in the City amounts to Rs 2.01 crore in a year. Despite repeated complaints the Road Transport Authority has not addressed the demand, he said.
He said the capacity of gas kits adopted in autorickshaws was only 12 litres. However gas bunk staffers demand more money arguing that they fill 15 litres, which was impossible.
