Rains bring cheers, problems  
After a small break on Wednesday, rains again lashed the coastal belt on Thursday causing both cheers and inconveniences.
Foundation stone for Gilivindu on March 23  
The foundation stone for 'Gilivindu,' the project to develop the residence of the late poet laureate by preserving and renovating the existing house of the poet at Manjeshwara by retaining its originality as a national monument, will be laid on March 23, to coincide with the 125th birth anniversary of the poet.
Can Bank opens e-ticket kiosk  
Canara Bank opened its novel venture ATM-cum-e-ticketing kiosk at Mangalore Railway Station on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao inaugurated the new service.

    Election Commission has been very strong and stubborn this time. It has dealt politicians with the severest norms...the staff with iron hand and suspended/dismissed employers at will. But what about those people who could not vote as their names were not in the voters list, due to someone's negligence? I am one among them and  for the first time, I could not vote.
