Free legal aid camp
A free legal aid camp was held at Shreyas Teachers’ Training Institute in Ketaganahalli of Srinivaspur taluk.
JMFC Judge Balagopalakrishna, who presided over the programme, called upon the teachers to create legal awareness among the students. Further he lauded the efforts in conducting such programme which benefits the poor, women, labourers and backward class people. Advocate K R Muralidhar spoke on Hindu Inheritance Act and women’s laws. K Shivappa presented a paper on harassment of women while P R Venkatareddy delivered a lecture on Dowry Act and Usha on women’s rights and pension.
Principal H N Nagabhushanreddy, Satya Sai Education Institute Principal K V Nagaraj were present on the occasion.
Suvarna Grama Yojana
Srinivaspur, DHNS: As many as 11 villages, identified under Suverna Grama Yojana, will get benefits which are now available for urban areas, said Legislative Assembly former speaker Ramesh Kumar said.
He was speaking at the launch of works on cement road taken up under the Yojana at Alavatti village on Thursday.
Under Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak scheme a Rs 1.20 crore worth work on a stretch of road between Patapalli cross and Kadapa has been taken up, he said.
He also stressed on need of a government hospital for the village.
