Woman ends life
Chikkaballapur, DHNS: Pushpalatha, a 20 year old woman committed suicide on Wednesday by hanging. She was the daughter of Rajanna of Adenahalli village and was married to one Srinivasmurthy five months ago. At the time of wedding Rs 1.5 lakh cash and jewellry worth Rs 1 lakh was given as dowry.

However, it is alleged that Pushpalatha’s mother-in-law used to harass her everyday.  Unable to bear the torture Pushpalatha committed suicide in her residence which is right opposite to the City police station. City police have registered the case and investigations are on.

DySP P Nanaiah, tahasildar Poornima, Circle Inspector Shivkumar, SI Sathyanarayana visited the place of incident.

Applications Invited
Kolar, DHNS: Santhosh Welfare Trust located at Maderahalli post in Bettani village has constructed an orphanage. The Trust has invited applications from orphans above three years. Orphans and those whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 11, 000 can apply.

    They will be given free boarding, food and education facilities.

Applications are being issued from March 17. Director of the Trust Grace Santhosh Kumari has said that interested candidates can make use of this. For further details contact 9916212602.    

New PHC building
Srinivaspur: A primary health centre is being set up at a cost of Rs 96 lakh by the Heatlh Depatment for the benefit of Mudimadagu and Hogalagere villages of Srinivaspur taluk, Former Speaker of the Assembly Ramesh Kumar said here on the occasion of foudation stone laying ceremony of the Centre.

The Government is also planning to set  up primary health centres in Lakshmisagar, Mastenahalli and Byraganahalli. Two doctors will be appointed for each of these PHCs and they will be provided with a vehicle.
Zilla panchayat President A C Nagarathnammma Manjunath Reddy, District Medical Officer Dr Ramesh Babu, Taluk Medical Officer Chandrashekhar and Taluk Panchayat member N Srirama Reddy were among those who were present on the occasion.
