The festival of the tribals, Haadi Habba, will be jointly organised for three days by Kannada and Culture Department, South Zonal Cultural Centre, Kodagu TV Media Association and FMC College Parampara Koota at Cauvery Kalakshetra from March 21, said TV Media Association President H T Anil.
Speaking at a press meet organised at Friends Club on Wednesday, he said tribal cultural teams from various parts of the State will participate. Deputy Commissioner K R Niranjan will inaugurate the programme while Zilla Panchayat President Deerghakeshi Shivanna will preside over the programme. Teams from Uttara Kannada district, H D Kote, Hudagaru, Titimathi, Napoklu and FMC College will present dance programmes on March 21.
Teams from Mysore, Basavanahalli, H D Kote and Nittur will present dance programmes on March 22.
The valedictory will be organised under the presidentship of Kannada and Culture Department Joint Director K T Chikkanna on March 23. Suggi Kunitha, tiger and bear dance, kolata and other dance forms will be presented. A special stage is being designed for the festival at Cauvery Kalakshetra and the expenditure for the festival comes upto Rs 2.70 lakh.
