Exhibition of Ganesha paintings

Lord Ganesha was the theme for the painting exhibition, `Lord Gannapa’ held by Ramesh Sadhwani, the curator for the exhibition called Sadhwani's iArt.  The exhibition showcases paintings of Ganesha in different forms, shapes and sizes.

These paintings are art works of less popular artists and their painting are displayed in order to give them the required popularity.

The paintings were bought by Ramesh Sadhwani, this he did so that the artist does not need to wait until the painting is sold to get his due.

They are framed using silk to give them a royal look. It is usually contrasted with the colours used in the paintings. These paintings are available to the general public. The prices for the small size paintings are around Rs 5000, the medium sized ones cost about Rs 10,000-15,000 and the large ones cost all the way upto Rs 40,000. Two exclusive paintings are on display which cost Rs 1,50,000 each.

A few painters who have contributed their works of art to this exhibition are Ravi Basrur, Devraj, Sherly Matthew, S S Murthy, Sudha, Rajana Malik, Gurudas Shenoy, Lakshmi and Naveen. The exhibition will be on till April 14. For details contact: 41570021.
