Parsis too celebrate Navroz, meaning new day on Friday. The festival is celebrated in honour of King Jamshed who began ruling over a new kingdom. It is also known as Jamshedji Navroz.
Parsis believe that on Navroz, the day and night is equal. Iranians in the City ready a table with seven different dishes, comprising sweets and fruits. Two mirrors are kept on the table. One must reflect the food on the table and the other reflects the guests who troop in. “I will go to the fire temple and probably go out with friends and have a good meal,” says Maherzad Khambatta, assistant manager at HP.
